Green Detox Smoothie

As much as I love the festivities that surround Thanksgiving, I don't love that bloated/heavy/overstuffed feeling that inevitably comes along with it. I know I can't be the only one! Do you feel the same?? 

That's why I created this gorgeously Green Detox Smoothie. This lean, green, nutrient-dense smoothie will help combat all of your digestive woes.

This smoothie is ultra hydrating with water and cucumber. It's loaded with anti-inflammatory foods (to decrease bloating and puffiness) like ginger, lemon, honey and chia seeds. Full of leafy green kale goodness to help replenish micro nutrients and beautify the skin. And it's full of fiber that will help draw toxins out of the system, reducing bloating, helping to flatten the tummy and decrease that heavy feeling. It's naturally sweetened with low-glycemic pear and a touch of raw honey. 

 

Green Detox Smoothie
(serves 2)

Ingredients

1 cup kale
1 pear
1/2 cucumber
1 celery stalk
1 lemon, squeezed
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 cup almond milk
1 cup filtered water
1 Tbsp ground flaxseeds
4 tsp fresh ginger (small knob)
2 tsp raw honey
*If you prefer a sweeter tasting smoothie, add a frozen banana


Directions

  1. Wash kale leaves and chop up fruit and veggies for easier blending. 
  2. Add all of the above ingredients to a high speed blender and blitz for 60 seconds until smooth and creamy. 
  3. Enjoy immediately :)
